MEET GEMMA(t)

For the last 6 years, the Generator or Genny as we lovingly call her, has been birthing artists, sculptures, works, communities and friendships in Sparks, NV. The time has come for us to move past our warehouse maker space and start a mobile movement that (literally) meets people where they’re at. GEMMA(t) is the daughter of the Generator. She’s the next step in bringing art to the masses.

Outreach/Art/Activism

GEMMA(t) is inspired by amazing mobile art everywhere including the mysterious and lovely secret box truck carnival in Brooklyn, the incredibly refreshing tooth brush cart of Burning Man, and the strong mobile maker truck movement. We are blessed to have a large-scale maker space with over 200 active artists but the vast population of Sparks has never been to the Generator or seen our art. How do we meet new groups of people who aren’t in the “art scene”? How do we surpass stereotypes that you have to go to art school, be creative or a certain type of person in order to make cool things? This is where Gemma(t) comes in.
