Job Title: Arts Education Coordinator (Part Time)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as an Arts Education Coordinator, primarily working with youth-oriented programming. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in arts education and a genuine commitment to fostering creativity and skill development in young people. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with artists, educators, and community partners to design and implement engaging arts programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement arts education programming for youth across various age ranges that aligns with our organization's mission and goals.

  • Plan and facilitate hands-on arts workshops, classes, and events that inspire creativity and self-expression.

  • Coordinate with local schools, community centers, and youth organizations to promote and deliver arts education initiatives.

  • Work with volunteer instructors and mentors to assist with program delivery.

  • Conduct outreach to attract participants and raise awareness of our youth arts programs.

  • Collaborate with staff members to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Maintain accurate records of program attendance, participant feedback, and other relevant data.

  • Assist with grant writing and fundraising activities to support youth arts education initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in arts education, fine arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Previous experience working with youth in an educational or community-based setting.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of participants.

  • Demonstrated creativity and ability to design innovative arts curriculum and activities.

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of program planning and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with underserved or at-risk youth populations.

  • Knowledge of local arts resources, organizations, and funding opportunities.

  • Familiarity with youth development theories and best practices.

  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a part-time position requiring flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate program activities and events.

  • Work will primarily be conducted in an office setting, with occasional off-site programs and events.

  • Initial commitment is part time and temporary with potential for development towards full time and permanent dependent on program growth.

Salary & Schedule

  •  Non-exempt, part-time, temporary position.

  • $20/hr

  •  Position is expected to work ~20 hours weekly, based on schedule and availability. Time commitment will be closer to 40h/week during summer camps (Late June to early August).
