Become a Generator Member
Whether you're a seasoned maker or just starting out, a Generator Membership is the perfect way to get involved in the community, gain access to tools, equipment, knowledge and resources you need to bring your projects to life.
Memberships
Members have access to the Generator during open hours, Tuesday-Saturday, 10 AM-7 PM, with onsite staff available to assist with tools, equipment, and general questions on projects. Everyone who works at The Generator needs to have a Base Membership. Discounts available for neighborhood members, students and adults with a shared address or studio.
Members start with a Base Membership and can then add-on the fabrication shops they intend on using. Members may also pay an extra $20 for the Extended Hours Membership, changing your access to 6AM-10PM, 7 days a week.
Studio Artist Members
Studio Artists are members who rent open, flex style studios, starting at 100 sqft. Studio Space is for active members of the community who maintain a small shop or fabrication membership while needing space to store and work on their art for a minimum of 6 months.
Studio Space can be applied for via our online application below. There is currently a waitlist, so please input your application as soon as you know you’re interested.
Build Projects
Build Projects are are for those who require temporary working space for a project that will finish within 6 months, such as a trailer buildout or burning man project. Build Project Leads can request access to the building outside of open hours while their crew helps them complete a project. Build Projects can apply for space via our online application.

Standard Memberships:
Base Membership
Access to the Generator during open hours, Tues-Sat, 10 AM - 7 PM. On-site staff to assist with tools, equipment, or projects. Use of all small shops and any flex-use workspaces or co-working space. Includes discounted access to workshops, events, and member-only events and programs
$25/month or $250 annually
Shared Membership: $40/month*
Fabrication Add-Ons
Wood Shop Add-on: $35/ month ($60 total).
Metal Shop Add-on: $55/month ($80 total).
All Fabrication Add-On: $75/month ($100 total).
Access to the Generator during open hours, Tues-Sat, 10 AM - 7 PM for anyone who wants to use the fabrication shops regularly! A base membership is required to for any add-ons.
Space Rentals:
Studio Artists
$1.25/sqft monthly + Base Membership
100 sqft studio minimum
6 month minimum contract
The Generator offers a number of dedicated flex style studios for local, adult artists, currently with around 50 artists in house! All mediums are welcome to apply. Studio Artists gain 24/7 access to the Generator shops for the term of the contract. Discounts on storage cabinet rental.

Build Projects

Weekly, 1-3 Month, 3-6 Month Rentals
Designed for projects <6 months
Need to bust out a 30 foot tall sculpture or leave your ongoing upholstery project for a few nights? The Generator offers space for temporary build projects. Temporary Builds are any project that is in our space for less than 6 months.
Applications for 2025 build season are currently being reviewed. To be considered for project space this season, apply for space ASAP.

The Genny Crew:
The Generator prides itself on being a fully inclusive space available for all.
To ensure inclusivity across all members, we offer limited work exchange positions each year to qualified members. The Genny Crew commits to providing volunteer support to the Generator in unique ways. All members of The Genny Crew receive a monthly membership at no cost, as well as other benefits throughout the year.
