The annual Playa Art Preview gala will be held on August 1st, 2026 to benefit The Generator, our spectacular Makerspace, and the stellar community attached.
Making big art is magic. We want to bring you into our 60,000 sqft. buildspace so you can see the magic in progress and meet the creators behind these larger than life sculptures.
You’ll experience these monumental works up close, hear directly from the artists, and witness the creativity, engineering, and collaboration that bring these projects to life.
Let us feed you some incredible Paella while we talk about what goes into making big art: the process, the people, and our place in all of this beauty. We’ll follow dinner with desserts and drinks at the artists’ build spaces, so you can really see the process of creating such huge work.

The Reno Generator is a nonprofit community makerspace supporting over 300 members and 50 studio artists.
We provide access to tools, education, and collaborative space for people of all ages and backgrounds to create, learn, and grow.

Ticketing
General Admission Individual: $75
Every ticket grants you entry to the event as well as a plate of delicious food. Enjoy live entertainment and artist talks while surrounded by larger-than-life art!
General Admission 10 Person Tables: $750
Gather 9 of your closest friends to have an incredible meal and support our makerspace. Complimentary bottle of wine for the table. Please provide the names of your guests in the special notes section at checkout.
VIP Individual: $150
Attend our VIP hour starting at 5 PM, chat with the artists before the event, enjoy specialty cocktails and live music, take a first look at raffle prizes, our 100x100 gallery, and sprinkle on a few extra drink tickets. Does not include premium seating.
VIP 10 Person Table: $1,500
Attend our VIP hour starting at 5 PM with 9 of your closest friends, family, or colleagues. Chat with the artists before the event, enjoy specialty cocktails and live music, take a first look at raffle prizes, our 100x100 gallery, and sprinkle on a few extra drink tickets. Complimentary Champagne is included for the table. Also includes premium, front row seating during artist presentations. Playa Art Preview is our annual Generator Fundraising Gala event aiming to share the wonders of Burning Man art created in the Reno area with community members and guest who may or may not join us on Playa.

We need your help making Playa Art Preview 2026 spectacular!
The goal of our event is to center and celebrate the stories of the art being built in our space and in our communities while raising much needed funds for our organization and the artists currently building in our space. Our fundraiser helps to preserve our facilities, therefore ensuring monumental achievements continue to be created by future fabricators from Burning Man and beyond.
100 × 100 Gallery Show
The 100 x 100 Gallery Show will feature 100 artworks for $100 during (dates: July 31 - Aug 30). This gallery will be on display during our biggest fundraising event of the year, Playa Art Preview on August 1st. This means hundreds of individuals will be able to view your work on display during the busiest time of year in our space. Since this is a fundraising event, we are asking artists to choose to either donate the entire proceeds of the sale to The Generator or take the usual 20/80 commission (20% to The Generator, 80% to the artist)
